The club enjoys the following weekly and monthly activities:

Playgroups

Each month, different moms volunteer to host a playgroup. You can provide snacks and refreshments, but it's not mandatory. Siblings are welcome! If you would like to attend another age-group playgroup, you can do that too.

Our club has 4 age-appropriate playgroups:

- Bunchkins (0-12 months)

- Wiggles (13-23 months)

- Tiggers (2-3 years)

- Superfriends (3-5 years)

Park Days

They are very popular with the moms and kids. To make it more fun for the kids, we sometimes have a Theme Park Day (push & ride-on toys, bubble day, children's book swap, children's toy swap).

Other activities held at Park Days:

- Krafty Kids (see Krafty Kids below)

- Monthly Members' Meeting

- Most Holiday Parties

Lake Days

Once a week during the summer, we meet at either East or North Beach inside Lake Mission Viejo. This is a great place to relax and escape the heat. The kids will love playing in the sand and swimming in the water.

Storytime

There are two storytime worth mentioning that are scheduled every other month:

- a Puppet and Song Show at Borders bookstore in Mission Viejo

- a Song, Dance & Stories with Miss Patti at Borders bookstore in Rancho Santa Margarita

Gym Classes

They are perfect for all ages, especially for kids who are learning how to walk or kids with endless energy.

- Academy of Olympics Class is scheduled during the school year, but not in the summer time. The class is open only to our club. The kids can jump, tumble, go through tunnels while supervised by the teacher. At the end of each class, the kids gather around a parachute and sing songs. It is $6 per child.

- California Elite Gym offers an "open gym" on Mondays, Tuesdays & Thursdays to members and non-members of this gym. They have an area for smaller kids and a large room with Olympic equipment, padded floors, sponge pit and more. The price is $7 per child.

Krafty Kids

Each month, the kids get together at a park for fun crafts. Our Krafty Kids coordinator is very creative and extremely patient with kids of all ages. Look for this activity at most MOMS Club Holiday Parties too.

Lunch Bunch

Once in a while, we get together for a bite to eat. This event is sometimes combined with other activities, such as field trips or storytime. We go to child-friendly restaurants, malls' food courts or somewhere outdoors for a picnic lunch.

Strollersize

If weather permits, moms stroll around Lake Mission Viejo. What a better way to get in shape or relax than to walk?

Coffee Talk

Here is another reason to meet more moms and get to know them better. We often meet for breakfast at a cafe with outdoor tables and then go to a park, or meet at McDonald's.

Moms' Night Out (MNO)

This event is once a month at 7:00 pm and is very popular with the moms. The children stay at home for some daddy-and-me bonding time. Throughout 2003-2004, we have enjoyed the following themes:

- Movie Night

- Pajama Party

- White Elephant Party

- Wine Tasting

- Game Night

- Manicures and Martinis

- Valentine's Day - Manicures and Pedicures

- Prom Night

- Shabu Shabu Japanese Restaurant

Field Trips

For a change of scenary, we drive outside Mission Viejo to places, such as:

- Train Ride with Santa (Irvine Park, Tustin)

- Orange County Fair

- Irvine Spectrum (for train/carousel rides)

- Centennial Farm (Costa Mesa)

- Jones Mini Farm (San Juan Capistrano)

- Doheny Aquarium (Dana Point)

- Friends of the Sea Lions (Long Beach)

- Fire Station Tour (Ladera Ranch)

- Visit with Santa at Fashion Island (Newport Beach)

- Zoo & Pony Rides (Irvine Park, Tustin)

- Pumpkin Patch (RSM, Tanaka Farm)

- Tanaka Farm (for strawberry picking in Irvine)

- Llama Farm Tour (Trabuco Canyon)

Kids' Birthday Celebration

Every other month, we celebrate 2 months of b-days. This is another excuse for moms to get together, while the kids have fun playing. Each child receives sweet treats and goes home with a toy of choice. Siblings are welcome! This event is also open to ALL (even if it's not your child's birthday).

Places of celebration:

- Parks

- Burger King

- Chuck E. Cheese's

Holiday Parties

They are everybody's favorite events and the most attended functions. Food and refreshments are provided by the board or we have potluck. The kids enjoy crafts and goodie bags.

- Halloween Party

- Winter Holiday Party

- Valentine's Day Party

- Spring Party

- Mother's Day Party

Scrapbooking

If you want to organize your pictures, or you are an avid scrapbooking person and would like some company, this is for you. The ladies meet every other month. The advantage of joining this group is that you can use or borrow supplies from any of the moms present or get advice on how to start your first scrapbook. Appetizers and refreshments are provided by the hostess.

Culinary Delights

This is for anyone who likes to eat. There's usually a theme such as Brunch or Dessert, but our moms prefer Potluck Breakfast or Potluck Lunch. You don't have to be a cook - just bring something to drink or something store-bought. This casual event takes place at one of our moms' homes. While you socialize with the other members, the kids will be busy entertaining themselves with new friends and lots of toys.

New Member Social

Every three months, we give our new members a formal welcome, by inviting them to a social get-together. The new moms have a chance to meet the board and other ladies in the club. Munchies and refreshments are served.

Other Activities

Each month, we strive to introduce the club to new and exciting activities. Here are a few that have been very successful: Kids' Bumper Bowling, Pump It Up, Scooter's Jungle, Jump 'n Jammin. However, the events that are a HUGE HIT with our moms are the FREE organized activities:

- FREE Music Class

- FREE Dance Class

- FREE Tae Kwon Do Class

- FREE Matinee

- FREE Mommy and Me Class/Gym

- FREE Pottery Barn Concert

- FREE Learning Link Center (This center is for kids 0-5 yrs. The room has a preschool layout only smaller. It is divided into different corners: train table, puzzle table, baby corner, craft table, painting isle, indoor play zone, and an area for playing with toys. Great Fun! Resources are also available if you have questions regarding your child's development.)
